Conversing

February 7th, 2008 by Brittany

The art of conversation is a skill shared by most successful people. Good conversation promotes an image of self-confidence, intelligence, exchanging thoughts, ideas, or feelings. People who seem to speak effortlessly and efficiently with others are generally well liked and highly successful. Avoid the uncomfortable silence. Good conversation comes with a little practice. The Adory can help you prepare for that big company party or the meeting you must attend.

* Stay away from topics controversial. This included religion, sex, money and politics.
* Ask open-ended questions, that is, ones that can’t be answered with “yes” or “no”.
* Find something interesting and pleasant to talk about.

Inner beauty rejuvenation

February 7th, 2008 by Brittany

Is an opportunity to discover your true inner self as perfect bliss!
Feeling good head to toe and feeling good from the inside out is very important.
We are not empty shells, let your inner beauty shine. This is one of the most satisfying part of my job I can help people understand what true beauty is. Most people don’t know this but real beauty cant not be seen. Beauty is only skin deep. Its about finding balance in your life in all areas: health, wealth and happiness is what we all really want in our life. Let The Adory open a new door for you with your mind and body as the focus to a better life. Learning to love yourself for what you are loving your flaws. The Adory dresses and styles insides as well.

Recipe for inner rejuvenation:
“For attractive lips , speak words of kindness…
For lovely eyes , seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure , share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair , let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day.
For poise , walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone…
People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed,
revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone.
Remember, if you ever need a helping hand,
you will find one at the end of each of your arms.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands;
one for helping yourself and the other for helping others.” Audrey Hepurn

Wardrobe Therapy

February 7th, 2008 by Brittany

We all can be somewhat of packrats at times when it comes to clothes… my question is why? Yes fashion come around every so on and vintage is hot. But the truth is why do you need the sweater that your grandma nit you when you graduated college?? The one one you never got to wear due to the risk of losing all reputable things you did that year. Save yourself and someone else this winter donate the things you don’t use to the Good Will. You will feel good about giving back to someone who really could use that sweater.

* Organize wardrobe.
* Donate unworn and unwanted clothing that do not fit
properly,are out of style.
* Create new outfits from your existing wardrobe
and use your accessories.
* Make sure you have the appropriate attire for
different seasons and occasions.

A big part of our job at The Adory is making sure you
look your best knowing what body shape you are can
eliminate clothes don’t flatter your body as well as
colors that don’t suit you.

Style Analisys

February 7th, 2008 by Brittany

Personal style analysis will teach appropriate ways to project the image you want you can leave a lasting first impression. Style isn’t just whats on the runways and in mags. Its something signature to you. Its inspiration from trends you like that reflect personal style. Knowing what you like and dislike are important, but trying new things is even more important! Style as much a part of you as your entity.

There are some simple rules that can help anyone get a better understanding of their figure. A big misconception is that people  are short they cant wear specific clothes but really its about balance and knowing they right way to wear something.  Let The Adory point out what shape you have.

Athletic - tall, broad shouldered, narrow hips, long legs.
Hourglass (classic Marilyn Monroe) - small waist, well-balanced chest and hips.
Pear-Shaped - narrow shoulders, smaller bust and broad hips.
Straight Up and Down - not much of a waist.
Apple-shaped - you carry your weight in the middle of the body.

Color Analysis

February 7th, 2008 by Brittany

Color analysis will teach you how to choose and use colors that will flatter and enhance your appearance, express your personality and create the right image. I have two ways to find your coloration.Seasonal color analysis is deciding if you are a Summer,Winter,Autumn,or Spring. The other is deciding if you are Warm, Cool or Neutral. The Adory works with you natural skin tone to find your coloring.

* Adjacent or harmonizing colors seem they are next to each other on the
color wheel. Harmonizing colors often work well together but if too close
in value they can appear washed out or not have enough contrast.

* Complementary colors are separated by another color on the color wheel.
Complementary colors printed side by side can cause visual vibration
making them a less than desirable combination. However, separate them on
the page with other colors and they can work together.

* Clashing or contrasting colors are directly opposite each other on the
color wheel. Despite the name, colors that clash are not always a bad
combination if used carefully. They provide great contrast and high
visibility.

* Cool Color Meanings (calming): Blue, Green, Turquoise, Silver
* Warm Color Meanings (exciting): Red, Pink, Yellow, Gold, Orange
* Mixed Cool/Warm Color Meanings: Purple, Lavender, Green, Turquoise
* Neutral Color Meanings (unifying): Brown, Beige, Ivory, Gray, Black, White

Each season, Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter has it’s own unique color palette…

The skin tone contains three pigments:
1. Hemoglobin (red)
2. Carotene (yellow-orange)
3. Melanin (brown)
